Mayco Clay Mender (Low Fire) 59ml

  1. Clay Mender is an “enhanced slip” that is intended to be used to repair and/or add attachments to greenware or bisque.
  2. Use on greenware or bisque to mend, fuse and correct clay defects. Simply moisten pieces with water-no extra adhesive required!
  3. Low fire and is not for mid range. It is recommended for Cone 04-06 firing (1000-1060c).
  4. More than ordinary slip, the enhanced formula creates a stronger bond for repairs and attachments. It can be used on bisque to join two pieces together, but is primarily for greenware use.
  5. Scoring where an attachment will be placed will strengthen the bond. Score the surface. Apply a coat of AC-306 and immediately and firmly press the pieces together, holding them into place for 10-20 seconds. After drying, the areas can then be sanded and smoothed for decoration. The glaze may not adhere to the mended area so a top dressing of an underglaze overcomes this problem. Fire to shelf cone 04.
